Serving up home-cooked meals for more than 20 years...
the Wooden Goose Café has become a staple of Milwaukee's north shore. Whether you're hungry for a hearty breakfast or a light lunch, The Goose will hit the spot.
Robert Schuster started his restaurant career as the co-owner of a George Webb's franchise. After discovering that he wanted to be more creative with the menu, he eventually ventured out on his own. He purchased Butter Buns, on Silver Spring Road, in 1985.
A local favorite for many years, Butter Buns served a great crowd. After many years in the city, he looked to move his restaurant "out into the country" that Mequon was at that time. Although the surroundings have changed since The Wooden Goose opened, the quality food, service, and sense of community haven't changed a bit.
Robert has since hung up his chef's hat, training his son Andrew to run the kitchen. With his attention to detail
and a hard-working team alongside him, Andrew is keeping the Goose tradition alive.
Over the years, we've had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people and watching families grow.
For that, we are truly thankful!
